Corporate Partnerships, Business Giving and Employee Donations

We invite you to consider sponsoring or partnering with Develop Africa. Business and organizational partnerships are a great way to boost aid to Africa. According to American Charities and Project ROI, a well-designed corporate social responsibility program can increase employee engagement by up to 7.5%, increase employee productivity by 13%, reduce employee turnover by 50%, and increase revenue by as much as 20%. That's a fantastic difference a partnership can make. Check out the partnerships with Develop Africa that are already having fun and making a difference.

Together, we can help change lives in Africa!

Donor / Partner Opportunities:

There are several ways you can help – from small, one-off activities to long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships. Here are a few current opportunities:

  • Make Develop Africa your company/organization 'Charity of the Year,' and get all your staff involved in campaigning and fundraising activities.
  • Sponsor an African child's education or apprenticeship.
  • Pay for a village school to be built
  • Donate sports or school equipment.
  • Sponsor our publicity materials, merchandise, or website.
  • Equip a computer lab
  • Pay for shipping of a container of books, school supplies, computers, etc
  • Provide seed money for small businesses; sponsor microfinance projects
  • Set up an Employer's Matching Gift program. Develop Africa is a tax-exempt charitable organization eligible to receive Matching Gifts. Some companies will provide a 100% match, doubling the value of your gift. Applying for a Corporate Matching Gift is easy. Some corporate intranet sites allow employees to use it directly online. Others provide forms that can be printed out and mailed. Check with your HR department if you can't find the link on your company web.

1 percent for the planetIt all started when two businessmen met and bonded over their love for the outdoors. Realizing their responsibility to protect our Planet, they decided to give 1% of their sales back to the environment—whether or not they were profitable. Soon after our inception, 1% of the Planet's mission began to represent globally. The idea was simple: because companies profit from the resources they take from the earth, they should protect those resources. The global and the network prove that anyone can make a difference.

Develop Africa is proud to be a part of the 1% for the Planet network, which connects businesses and nonprofits to protect the Planet. If you own a business, consider joining 1% for the Planet, naming Develop Africa as your beneficiary. Everyone wins! For more information, please visit www.onepercentfortheplanet.org

Computer Equipment for Kids

The Computer Equipment for Kids program provides computer equipment to students in K-12 grades. We work with schools and programs to provide computer equipment to families who cannot afford them.   We take old/used laptops/tablets, refurbish them (cleaning the system, installing a new Operating System, fixing minor issues, etc.), and deliver them to the students (mail for folks outside Northern Virginia). We firmly believe everyone should have the right to technology and access to the internet. Just think about how having a  computer in your home has helped you learn things you never would have had access to the local library.

Mission Statement: Get technology into the hands of students to enhance their learning experience through the internet
