Develop Africa In Action
One Million Books for Africa - Project Update
A shipment of books from our Million Book Drive recently arrived in Freetown, Sierra Leone. The books were distributed to two schools in Freetown namely the Forum for Africa Women Educationalists (FAWE Primary School at Fort Street and the UMC Primary School at George Brook. The principal, staff and students were grateful for the donation of the books and students pledged to make optimal use of the books. Thank you partners for making this dream a reality.

Partnership with CAPEC Expands
In Develop Africa's on going mission to develop africa, we have partnered with the Cameroon Association for the Protection and Education of the Child (CAPEC). Since its inception in 2002, CAPEC has been working with children/youths, parents, Government and intergovernmental bodies in the promotion of issues related to the welfare and rights of children and youths in Cameroon. It works to identify and remedy the needs of children and youths, especially the underprivileged in the rural areas through a participatory approach.

Develop Africa Participates in Kuumba Festival 2007
Develop Africa Visits Kuumba Festival
Representatives from Develop Africa had the opportunity to occupy a booth a a local festival - Kuumba Festival at the Chilhowee Park in Knoxville, TN on June 30th 2007. The festival was well attneded and representatives had the opportunity to share the vision of Develop Adrica and promote Develop Africa activities with like-minded and interested members of the community. Kuumba stands for creativity and the festival promoted creativity.

December 2006: A team from Develop Africa, Inc. visited iEARN, Sierra Leone. Team members are Sylvester Renner, President and Dr. Jasmine Renner, Development Director. Develop Africa, Inc. The team sponsored and provided 2 days of training in MS Office Applications (MS Word and Excel). The team also met individually with iEARN staff and some members.

Develop Africa Inc. presented an award of 3 (three) Promise of Hope (Tuition) Scholarship to students in Wellingara, The Gambia. The scholarship was awarded to: Lamin Manneh, Amina Sonko, and Malang Bayo, all students at the Omega Training Institute, a secretarial and computer training institute in Wellingara, The Gambia.
