Thanks for your interest in running a book / school supplies / pencil drive or collection activity.  We welcome your desire to help us make a difference.

Please note that we particulalrly welcome your donations of school supplies and related supplies.  You can send these in without a donation to cover shipping to Africa.  This is effective August 6th 2009 till further notice.

Information You Need to Note / What We Need From You

2.  We would like to receive pictures of your activity.  We will provide an email address.  You can also mail printed pictures to the address below.

3.  We would like to add information about your group and activity to our website and newsletter.  There are several advantages of this -  Including publicity and recognition for your group members, motivation to other groups etc.  Additionally, this helps us to expand our impact.    If you specifically do not want details of your activity publicized, please let us know.

4.  Should you have any newspaper coverage or create any posters, we would like to receive a copy.   

5.  Your drive / activity will be carried on at your own risk.  As Develop Africa will not be there physically to participate in or monitor the situation, we cannot be held liable for any occurrences.  Please proceed only at your own risk.  

6.  We require that ALL groups send a donation to help cover the cost of shipping books.  Currently, effective August 2009 till further notice, due to the demand for supplies, we will gladly receive donations of school and related supplies without a donation to cover shipping to Africa.  

7.  Kindly inform us of what you are planning to send through our contact form before shipping.

8.  We are asking for a donation of $50.00 (excluding school supplies) or more for each average size box of books.  This donation will help cover the cost of shipping from our Tennessee office to Africa.  Sending in the supplies without helping to pay for them is inadequate and incomplete.   You will need to plan appropriately.  

Donations towards shipping can be sent in check, money order or made online here.  One option could be getting sponsorship from local businesses to cover shipping costs.  Develop Africa can offer a tax receipt for donations to individuals and businesses in the USA.  You could raise money through other fund raising means. 

We absolutely will need your donation towards shipping costs - with each box.

2.  We are interested only in new or next to new supplies.  Please do not send supplies that are 2nd rate -that you would not want to receive as a gift yourself.
