Give More - Get More Challenge With GlobalGiving

We wanted to let you know about an exciting matching opportunity that we are participating in through our partners, GlobalGiving.

If you considered donating to Develop Africa (or donating again) in the 2013 tax year, now (until Dec 1) might be a good time. With the Give More - Get More Challenge, GlobalGiving will match your contributions incrementally depending on how successful we are. Develop Africa has several projects on the website that qualify for this challenge:

The challenge details:

November 10 to December 1 (but ends Dec 1 at 12:59 EST, not your time zone!)

Matches are staggered based on the amount we raise, or in other words: The more of the total amount of all donation we raise the bigger the match.
- We raise up to $2,500: donations will be matched at 30%.
- We raise $2,501 to $7,500: donations will be matched at 40%.
- We raise more than $7,501: donations will be matched at 50%.
* Donations up to $500 per individual will be matched by GlobalGiving, so the matching funds don't get depleted too fast. If you are able to give more, please contact us and donate via our website.

What are the awards?
Awards will be given to the top three projects that raise the most money and the top three projects that get the most number of donations. It is possible to earn an award for both. First place for both categories will each receive $5,000, second place in each will receive $3,000 and third place in both categories will each receive $1,000.

Do you have to do anything special when making a donation online in order to get matching credit?
No. Make a donation through our project page on GlobalGiving.com as you normally would. All eligible donations made to DA’s project pages through GlobalGiving will be counted for matching and towards the prizes.

Can I pay by check?
Yes, donors can pay by check, but all checks must be received by November 30, 2009. Checks should be made out to the GlobalGiving Foundation (Develop Africa) and mailed to:

Are there any donation limitations?

Projects are encouraged to raise as much money as possible to get the most out of the Challenge. However, in order to prevent a few individuals from using up all the matching funds, donations to any single project from any individual donor will only be matched up to $500. If a single donor makes a donation in excess of $500, the project will receive the entire amount, but only the first $500 will be eligible for the match.

This individual donor limitation is only applicable per project. If the same donor makes a $500 donation to two separate projects, both of those donations are eligible for a match.
