December Visit and Training: iEARN, Sierra Leone:


December 2006: A team from Develop Africa, Inc. visited iEARN, Sierra Leone. Team members are Sylvester Renner, President and Dr. Jasmine Renner, Development Director. Develop Africa, Inc. The team sponsored and provided 2 days of training in MS Office Applications (MS Word and Excel). The team also met individually with iEARN staff and some members. 


Staff members from IEARN and Develop Africa had discussions regarding a partnership relationship and how the two organizations can work together. Both short-term and long term projects are being discussed. Develop Africa, Inc. plans to work towards assisting IEARN with some maintenance and hardware upgrade of computers, software upgrades, fuel for the generator (currently a critical component as the current power / electricity situation is deplorable), hardware components etc. The meetings also included initial discussions on how Develop Africa can consult with IEARN towards achieving long-term sustainability.
