Warm greetings

Word for This Newsletter: We are delighted to introduce a new feature that will breifly discuss a new word or person each month.  Our word for this month is "influence".

Influence as defined by Dictionary.com is the capacity or power of persons or things to be a compelling force on or produce effects on the actions, behavior, opinions, etc., of others.  This words on this sign in the photo from Cameroon sums us the influence that donors to our CAPEC Cameroon partner project on Globalgiving  are having on the lives of children.  Pretty significant.

Guess what? You are having the same impact to other lives too!  So - wherever you may be whether supporting from a corner of the globe or serving and teaching these full-of-potential kids in Cameroon, always remember that you are influential. Your service and support is amazing and we appreciate you!

Meet Alpha Salieu - Child Waiting for a Sponsor

Alpha's father is a worker and the main provider of the home with a monthly income of $100, which is not enough to cover the basic family needs. His mother is a housewife. They live in a three bedroom apartment with no running water, but with electricity.

Alpha wants to be a banker when he grows up. He likes and knows how to dance. His health status is good.

Vision 2011: Expanding Our Impact, Investing in Lives

If not us, who?  If not now, when?
We have answered the call.  We invite you to join us and become a part of the DA family - all who love and care for people in Africa.

Here's how we can do more together:

  • Commit to donating monthly:  This would help us significantly.  Please consider signing up for a monthly or quarterly recurring donation of $10, $25, $50 or more.

  • Volunteer quality time:  We could use your help, no matter where you live.  Provided that you are committed to help and willing to do whatever it takes.  Some opportunities are listed here - or you tell us specifically what you can do for us.

Families in Sierra Leone face unprecedented challenges due to rising costs. Inflation makes it difficult for them to afford basic food staples such as rice, cooking oil, and onions.

Extending a helping hand can alleviate a significant burden and provide essential relief to the less fortunate.
