Hope - The Opportunity

This generation is responsible and capable of addressing the needs in Africa.

Despair:  The pictures of Africa in the media show children and adults in despairing situations.  Their environments are far from conducive, supportive or enabling.  In fact, many of these environments are disabling, frustrating, impeding and … practically fatal.  It’s a grim situation where people are locked in a vicious circle, where it’s virtually impossible to break free without outside help.  Due to the scourge of HIV/Aids we could lose an entire generation.  We cannot continue to ignore this crisis.

Many of the children have been left to fend for themselves – in extreme need, never having enough to eat.   Health-wise, they are exposed to plagues and basic preventable sicknesses that have resulted in the death of millions.  Opportunity-wise, they are destitute and bankrupt.  Their list of choices is severely limited.  Many times this list has no options, none whatsoever.  They have lived through dismal situations that many of us can barely imagine.

What I know for sure is that what you give comes back to you. – Oprah Winfrey

Children - full of potential

Take a look at the faces of the children in the picture above.  Their faces are teeming with potential and possibility.  Think about their potential and what these children could become. Maybe the world’s best neurosurgeon, an astronaut, the president of their nation, a university professor, a top business woman etc.  Only time can tell.

Your involvement can make this happen!

Hope - Light

Small World by Cliff Richards

Children seem to have no choice
The children have got no voice
They’re merely living to grow old
Letting their days unfold

……….

Its just not good enough to say
That the troubles too far away
Cos the little that you need to give
Could help a little child to live

Help them live a little longer
Help them grow a little stronger
So why not play a part

………..

Its a small world, a small world
When you reach out and touch
A stranger
From where you stand
Its a small world, a small world
When you can forge another link
In a far off land

Families in Sierra Leone face unprecedented challenges due to rising costs. Inflation makes it difficult for them to afford basic food staples such as rice, cooking oil, and onions.

Extending a helping hand can alleviate a significant burden and provide essential relief to the less fortunate.
