Transform a Water System - Morrumbene

The town of Morrumbene has a water system just like any other town in Mozambique. The problem is that the current water system/ structure cannot support the town in an efficient way. A closer look at the water supply in the town revealed that the system is all but insufficient. A water purifying system is non-existent. With a population of 250,000 there is only one 5000L corroded tank that supplies the town with a few manual bore holes in the district. Donate Now

Sub-Saharan Africa is more heavily affected by HIV and AIDS than any other region of the world. An estimated 24.5 million people were living with HIV at the end of 2005 and approximately 2.7 million additional people were infected with HIV during that year.
In just the past year, the AIDS epidemic in Africa has claimed the lives of an estimated 2 million people in this region. More than twelve million children have been orphaned by AIDS: UNAIDS, '2006 Report on the Global AIDS Epidemic'
