Solar Light Pilot Study Confirms Business Viability

After a 7 month pilot Solar Light project (since May 1, 2014), we are delighted to report that the feasibility study has confirmed viability.  The 6 solar lights that we provided to the youths pictured are performing very well.

The youths that benefited were excited to have the solar lights.  They spoke about the safety and durability of the lights. “More preferable to other lights” one of the youths said.  The youths that were not fortunate to get one have pleaded with us to provide for them next time.

Of the 2 lights that we purchased, the solar light with a thick shade (S20) is performing better than the other one with little metal stand (S2).

We received feedback that this is a very good business opportunity as people can pay for the lights in installments - spread over a period of several months.  We are investigating expanding this and continuing initially to provide this only to people who are already involved in the community work of Door of Hope.  A 30% profit was made from the lights.

These lights provide safe lighting – with no health or fire hazard.

We welcome the interest of people interested in this as a business venture or simply providing a safe light for a child or youth.
