Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:
- Be 5-35 years old, currently enrolled in a college, vocation or tertiary institution Must demonstrate exceptional leadership potential,

- Demonstrate excellence in academic work as evidence by exceptional grades in their course work

- Provide evidence of contribution to impacting the civic life of their communities through leadership and service.

 

 

 

Selection Process

The Scholarship recipients will be selected at the beginning of the academic year. A screening of applicants for the upcoming academic year will commence during the Fall between (October – November). A staff of Develop Africa Inc. in collaboration with officials from the colleges, tertiary and vocational institutions will conduct the selection process.  

The selection process  is based on several criteria, including:

- Strong potential for success and continuity in college

- A successful oral presentation

- An exemplary written presentation as demonstrated by a written essay and Exam results.

Scholarship recipients will be informed of their acceptance in early December. Payment will be made directly to their respective institutions.

Scholarship Amount

The recipients of the Scholarship will receive funds that will go towards a one-year tuition and incidental costs (such as books, etc).

Student will receive a minimum of $60. Amount receipt will depend on the cost of tuition.          

 

 

 

Scholarship Renewal  
Winners of the previous year could reapply in the following year. The maximum number of term for renewal is 2 years. Only students who meet certain criteria will be eligible for renewal. An applicant desirous of renewing their scholarship must:

- Maintain academic excellence throughout the period, 

- Submit proven evidence of leadership and community services to his or her community,

-Assist Develop Africa Inc. with its activities and work
