12 Years of Support: Yealie From Class One to SSS 2

From Class One to SSS 2. Twelve years. That's how long Develop Africa has been walking alongside Yealie on her educational journey.

Yealie joined the Develop Africa program when she was in Class One in 2014. Year after year, she has continued to receive educational support as she progresses through school.

As part of Develop Africa Sierra Leone's annual academic monitoring process, Yealie recently submitted her latest academic results.

We were happy to see that she performed very well and has been promoted to SSS 2.

Yealie's story demonstrates why long-term educational support matters.  Yealie has experienced that journey firsthand. From a young girl entering Class One to a young woman now progressing through senior secondary school, she has had the opportunity to continue her education with the support of people who believe in her potential.

Every year of support represents another opportunity for Yealie to learn, to participate, and every report card gives us another glimpse of her progress.

This is what educational sponsorship can look like over time.

We are proud of Yealie's progress and grateful to the donors, like you, who have invested in her journey for the past 12 years.

Her story is a reminder of what can happen when we believe in a child's potential and continue to support her along the way.

From Class One to SSS 2—and still moving forward. Thank you for helping make Yealie's educational journey possible.

Make a Difference Today: Donate to the Year of the Pencil Campaign

On November 20th, this movement placed over 100,000 pencils into the hands

of children across Sierra Leone in 20 schools.

Each pencil tells a story — of hope, opportunity, and possibility.

Education is more than lessons — it’s liberation.

Every $25 helps children write their dreams.
