The Man Behind the Mission

Mohamed Sanu
drives this.

Mohamed Sanu is an NFL wide receiver, entrepreneur, and community builder whose passion extends far beyond the football field. For three years running, he has used the platform of golf to bring people together for a cause that matters — education and opportunity for children in Sierra Leone.

What began as a vision to support his mother Aminata Sanu's community center project in Sierra Leone has grown into one of Atlanta's most anticipated charity golf events. Mo doesn't just lend his name — he shows up, he brings his network, and he asks his community to step up.

"I don't do things just because someone asks me. I'm in because the work is real and the kids deserve it."

"In 2003, I walked past a little girl crouching on a street in Freetown, Sierra Leone — asking strangers for food. That image never left me. That's why I started Develop Africa."

Make a Difference Today: Donate to the Year of the Pencil Campaign

On November 20th, this movement placed over 100,000 pencils into the hands

of children across Sierra Leone in 20 schools.

Each pencil tells a story — of hope, opportunity, and possibility.

Education is more than lessons — it’s liberation.

Every $25 helps children write their dreams.
