Bed Nets Distributed in Kondi Farm Community
At Develop Africa Sierra Leone (DASL), we believe that education and health go hand in hand. With your generous support, we recently distributed 75 long-lasting insecticidal mosquito nets to families in Kondi Farm, a high-risk community facing significant exposure to mosquito-borne illnesses, such as malaria.
Before the distribution, the DASL Team led an educational sensitization session to guide families on the proper use and care of the nets. Program Coordinator Joseph emphasized the importance of using the nets correctly and consistently, particularly for children and pregnant women, and cautioned against misusing the nets for unintended purposes.
Community youth leader Mr. Ibrahim spoke on behalf of residents, saying, "Good morning. My name is Ibrahim, a stakeholder of the Kondi farm community. I just want to say thank you to GlobalGiving for their support. As a community, we received the nets, which will protect us from mosquito bites. So once more, we want to say thank you, and we appreciate your support. Thank you once more."
This initiative reflects our holistic approach to development, recognizing that a child’s ability to learn is closely tied to their health and well-being. Thanks to your support, we are not only helping children stay in school, but helping them stay healthy enough to thrive there.
Your continued support is invaluable as we strive to provide more families in Sierra Leone with protective, long-lasting insecticide-treated nets (ITNs). Learn how you can help.
