The Art Supplies that You Helped Provide Are in Use

Thank you for your support that purchased new art supplies for Sahr.  Sahr is a very talented artist in Sierra Leone, even though he has not received any formal Art training.   In Sierra Leone, Artists receive little to no encouragement to pursue a career in Art, which is why Sahr is so appreciative of the art supplies he received from your donations. The art supplies he received will result in higher quality drawings and paintings, which will help Sahr grow his art business.

Seedlings Have been Planted to Help Reverse Deforestation

Thank you for your support in our ongoing efforts to reverse deforestation in Freetown, Sierra Leone.   To help reverse deforestation, Develop Africa planted a hundred seedlings in 2017 and on June 27, 2018, an additional hundred seedlings were planted in Sierra Leone.   You can see more photos in the photo album and watch the seedlings being planted in this video

Future Journalist Heading to College

Thanks to YOU, Thomasia has some of the funds she needs to start college in the fall.   She lost her mom in 2015 and has very limited access to financial assistance, making your support even more appreciated by Thomasia.

Thanks to your support, Susan is now a Cosmetologist!

We are delighted to report that thanks to your ongoing support, Susan has graduated as a cosmetologist.  Susan was able to complete her basic curriculum and get computer training through the Creating Pathways Centre after the birth of her baby in 2015 thanks to generous donors. She then enrolled at the Generation 21 Vocational Training Center for Cosmetology thanks to the ongoing support she received from donors like you.

Salifu is so Thankful for your support!

Your support helped Salifu cover his end of school exam fees and expenses and will help him cover some of his college tuition in the fall where he will study to become an economist.  Since Salifu's parents cannot cover any of the costs associated with going to college he is especially thankful for your support as you can see in his photo with his big smile.

Mosquitoes are More Deadly Than Sharks

Did you know that statistically, mosquitoes kill more people in one day than a shark does in a century?

Thanks to your support, however, we are working to change those statistics by providing bed nets. You can see 2 kids in the photos with their new nets. These long-lasting insecticide-treated nets (ITNs) provide an effective barrier and protection from mosquito bites while they sleep. They are deeply grateful to you for providing safe, undisturbed sleep.

Solar Lights are Helping Future Leaders Study at Night

We greatly appreciate your support that has helped to provide more students with solar lights. One of the students that recently received a solar light is Salamatu.  Salamatu is grateful to be able to read and study at night with her new solar light.  She enjoys going to school and says math is her favorite subject. Salamatu would like to be a nurse when she grows up.

Make a Difference Today: Donate to the Year of the Pencil Campaign

On November 20th, this movement placed over 100,000 pencils into the hands

of children across Sierra Leone in 20 schools.

Each pencil tells a story — of hope, opportunity, and possibility.

Education is more than lessons — it’s liberation.

Every $25 helps children write their dreams.
