We brought Relief, Smiles and Warmed Their Hearts

We are deeply grateful for your on-going support that is enabling us to continue to bring hope to flood victims in Freetown.

Thanks to your support through this project and another GlobalGiving project, over the past 3 months we have been able to accomplish the following:

Empowering Girls & Women

In Sierra Leone, as in many parts of the world, girls' education plays a pivotal role in driving societal progress, fostering economic development, and promoting gender equality. Despite significant strides in recent years, barriers to girls' education persist in Sierra Leone, making it crucial to understand and address the importance of prioritizing girls' education in the country.

Future Leaders Working Hard in School

Thank for your continued support that is enabling students, like Christiana, to complete their education. Christiana received a scholarship for her final year of Senior Secondary School.  Her next step will be to work toward becoming a banker, her desired future profession.

Please watch this video of appreciation from Christiana.  In the video she says:

We Brought Hope and Comfort

Because of your support, we were able to respond to the immediate need of the Dumbuya family.  We provided a wide range of food items including rice, onions, salt/spices, groundnuts and other cooking items.

This was a tremendous and welcome help to them - as they were then staying temporarily with a neighbor. We also had the opportunity to provide counseling to them during their time of loss - due to passing away of the youngest daughter.

Your Support is Empowering Small Businesses

Your continued support is empowering small businesses. Our microfinance or microcredit loans give individuals a helping hand to get their businesses going or to help them grow their existing businesses.   Stella is one of the small business owners that recently benefitted from a microfinance loan.

Thanks for Helping Mary

Through your support, Mary has received some of the funding she needs to advance her education. We are so very grateful for your support that is getting Mary closer to her goal of going to college and study Economics. We are excited about the future that is in store for her.

She is in the process of retaking her high school exams. In her video, she expresses her gratitude -

Vocational Training Opens Doors to the Future

Your ongoing support has helped multiple vocational trainees. Your generosity is truly making a lifelong impact on these individuals and their families.

Below is the story of Kadijatu, a current tailoring trainee, as told in her own words. Your support is helping to cover the costs of tailoring school - so Kadijatu and many others can be empowered by skills that will help them become self-sufficient.

Your Gift is Truly An Answer to a Prayer

Even today fewer opportunities and options are provided to girls/women in Sierra Leone.  While this is a global issue, the impact of this is crippling to the destinies of girls in Sierra Leone.  Imagine having to drop out of school so your brother can continue. Imagine not getting all the supplies that you need to be successful in school.  We could go on and on ...and on.

You can also imagine the questions that run through the minds of the girls. You can also almost hear their silent cries for help and for a chance to further their education.

Solar Lights Make a Difference

Thank you for your support that has enabled us to recently provide solar lights to students in Bo, Makeni, Freetown and Kamawone village.  Most of these students have no electricity and previously had to rely on dangerous kerosene lamps to study at night.  The students were each very appreciative to receive a solar light.

Make a Difference Today: Donate to the Year of the Pencil Campaign

On November 20th, this movement placed over 100,000 pencils into the hands

of children across Sierra Leone in 20 schools.

Each pencil tells a story — of hope, opportunity, and possibility.

Education is more than lessons — it’s liberation.

Every $25 helps children write their dreams.
