On May 5th, we had the unique opportunity to meet and host Britt Lake, the Program Operations Manager of GlobalGiving. Britt spent a day visiting Develop Africa's projects in Sierra Leone. A picture of Britt with a few of the scholarship beneficiaries is provided below.
Develop Africa, in April 2010, received through email the thank you letter below from Doors of Hope (DOH), Sierra Leone. DOH received 2 drums of books and school supplies in March 2010.

In January this year, Develop Africa provided scholarships to children in Sierra Leone. Below is a picture of the some of the beneficiary children and parents.

Education is a key component of development. To this end, Develop Africa continues to expand its commitment to empowering the future of Africa, by supporting education and development. Develop Africa's Promise of Hope Scholarship Program continues to provide assistance and increase educational opportunities and access to children and youths who families lack the economic power to afford tuition fees and costs.
Supporting and Empowering Special Needs Children: Develop Africa in partnership with Nuwach Ministries (www.nuwachministries.org) has provided 2 drums of books and school supplies to Cheshire Home – a special needs Home in Sierra Leone. Cheshire Home is a home in Freetown Sierra Leone that caters for the needs of special needs children.
Through a partnership arrangement with Develop Africa, the Prague British School, in the Czech Republic, has donated and shipped hundreds of children's books to FAWE school in Freetown Sierra Leone. The books were shipped through the assistance of DHL. Develop Africa acted as a liaison and provided some logistical support.
Field Trip Summary Report
In April / May 2009, Sylvester Renner, the President of the Develop Africa, had the opportunity to go on a field trip to Freetown, Sierra Leone. The following is a summary of activities during his trip:
