Through Develop Africa’s Children’s Book Partnership Program, authors and publishers donate 5–30 copies of a children’s book and sponsor one or more schools in Sierra Leone.

What we do for you

Many schools in Sierra Leone lack age-appropriate books and basic school supplies. Your partnership:

How It Works

1. Submit your book for review (age & cultural fit)

2. If approved, ship copies to our Tennessee office and complete payment

3. We deliver to schools in Sierra Leone (and backpacks/tuition where applicable)

4. We share photos and videos of children using your book

Note: We review all submissions and may decline books that aren’t a fit for local context or age group.

$400 – Starter Impact
Books + Photos only

• Placement in 1 school

• 20–30 photos + captions

• Marketing usage rights

• No backpacks, no tuition

$800 – Bronze Partner
Adds video + 1 backpack + 1 tuition

• Short distribution/recognition video

• Dedicated partner page + badge

$1,200 – Silver Partner
Adds student reflection video + 1 more backpack + 1 more tuition
(Total: 2 backpacks + 2 tuitions)

$1,700 – Gold Partner
Adds another student reflection video + 1 more backpack + 1 more tuition
(Total: 3 backpacks + 3 tuitions)

$2,450 – Platinum Literacy Partner
Our flagship package. Adds:

• Teacher impact video + one more student reflection

• Program credit: “Presented by [Author/Book]”

• Dedicated feature page, certificate + mini impact report

• Newsletter spotlight

• +1 more backpack + 1 more tuition
  (Total: 4 backpacks + 4 tuitions)

Important: Partnership fees are not tax-deductible (they cover program services and deliverables).

Optional Upgrades

Limited Capacity

We accept a limited number of partners each quarter to protect quality. If spots are full, you can apply and be waitlisted for the next cohort.

Book Guidelines (Quick)

Best fit: ages 4–12, simple language, strong illustrations, universal themes (kindness, courage, learning).
Please avoid heavy slang, culture-specific assumptions, violence, or mature content. We review every submission.
