The school is owned by the Sierra Leone Society for the Deaf and receives government support through the Ministry of Education. The donation included clothing and costumes donated by Step To Shine and books, crayons, and pencils provided by Develop Africa to support both academic learning and creative activities.

During the visit, Emeka King of Develop Africa explained that the items were provided by donors who believe every child deserves access to education and opportunities for self-expression. The school head teacher welcomed the team and shared appreciation for the visit.

A teacher and a student also spoke on behalf of the school, thanking Step To Shine and Develop Africa for recognizing the needs of deaf students and supporting their growth.

Make a Difference Today: Donate to the Year of the Pencil Campaign

On November 20th, this movement placed over 100,000 pencils into the hands

of children across Sierra Leone in 20 schools.

Each pencil tells a story — of hope, opportunity, and possibility.

Education is more than lessons — it’s liberation.

Every $25 helps children write their dreams.
