December 2006 / January  2007 Visit and Training: YEDEM, Freetown, Sierra Leone:

A team from Develop Africa, Inc. visited YEDEM, Freetown, Sierra Leone.  Team members were Sylvester Renner, President and Dr. Jasmine Renner, Development Director.  During the visit, the team sponsored and provided 2 days of training - Introductory and Advanced Microsoft Word.  This training covered features such as page layout, bullets and numbering, borders and shading, tables etc.  On overview of the Windows Operating system was also given for participants who were entirely new to computers.  Training was offered at the iEARN facilities, Stadium Hostel, Freetown, Sierra Leone - January 5th-6th, 2007.

The team additionally provided training on web page design to YEDEM.  Training materials, web page design software and links to online tutorials were made available to YEDEM.  The web page design training was offered as part of a transition process to enable YEDEM to manage and update its own website. YEDEM's current website (www.yedem.org) was designed and created by a Develop Africa volunteer.  On-going support is being offered to ensure complete sustainability and enhancements to the site.   View pictures...
