Develop Africa - Partner Project with CAPEC - Cameroon

Develop Africa is sponsoring and working in partnership with CAPEC on a special project - the Bitame Lucia Nursery and Primary School in Cameroon.

Still under creation, the school is located in a rural area on the south-east outskirts of the Yaounde, Cameroon - specifically the rural area of Nkolfoulou. The goal of the school is to bring low-cost education to underprivileged children in that location.  Our Mission is to provide education to the children of Nkolfoulou, so they would not be deprived of education based on their locality or family financial circumstances.

Through this project Develop Africa and CAPEC are enabling children to become self-sufficient. We are bridging the gap between rich and poor by offering good quality education for the most underprivileged. The Nursery and Primary will benefit children from Nkolfoulou village, Cameroon and about 2000 more children from other neighbouring villages (Baaba, Ntinga, Nkabo, Eboko, and Essebi).

Children at Bitame Lucia Nursery and Primary School

This school project is special because it provides basic education. Literacy rate in these rural areas is still low. Even though the government created school in Nkolfoulou it has not supported it with adequate infrastructure and teachers. Parents have therefore preferred to use their children in the farms.

Families in Sierra Leone face unprecedented challenges due to rising costs. Inflation makes it difficult for them to afford basic food staples such as rice, cooking oil, and onions.

Extending a helping hand can alleviate a significant burden and provide essential relief to the less fortunate.
