Strong schools begin with empowered teachers. When educators have the skills and confidence to use technology effectively, they can create more engaging learning experiences and better prepare their students for the future.

Thanks in part to your generous support, Develop Africa Sierra Leone recently partnered with FAWE School for Girls to provide a two-day basic computer training program for teachers at the school's computer lab.

The training focused on foundational digital skills that many teachers need to confidently incorporate technology into their daily work. Participants received hands-on instruction in basic computer operations, keyboard and mouse skills, file management, touch typing, and Microsoft Word for lesson preparation and classroom materials.

Throughout the training, teachers practiced each new skill in a supportive learning environment. As their confidence grew, they became more comfortable navigating computers and creating documents that will enhance their classroom instruction.

These practical skills will help teachers prepare lessons more efficiently, develop educational materials, and make greater use of technology to support student learning. The impact extends far beyond the teachers themselves—every educator who gains new digital skills is better equipped to inspire and teach the hundreds of students they serve each year.

Together, we are equipping teachers with the tools they need to educate the next generation and helping students develop the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in an increasingly digital world.
