Franklyn's Life-Changing Educational Journey

“I’m a proud beneficiary of Develop Africa. My journey with Develop Africa has been life-changing.”

Franklyn’s story is a powerful reminder of what your generosity helps make possible.

Franklyn was just nine years old when he became a beneficiary of Develop Africa. Raised by a single mother caring for four children, his educational future was uncertain. Through the compassion and intervention of the late Mrs. Janet, Franklyn and his family were connected to Develop Africa, marking the beginning of a life-changing journey.

Because of donors like you, Franklyn received consistent educational support from primary school through university. Your donations helped cover school fees, learning materials, and essential resources, allowing him to remain focused on his studies during some of Sierra Leone’s most challenging periods.

When electricity shortages made studying after dark impossible, solar lights provided by Develop Africa ensured Franklyn could continue learning at home. During the Ebola epidemic and later the COVID-19 pandemic, when schools were shut down nationwide, your support helped make home-based learning possible. Franklyn received learning materials and a radio to follow educational broadcasts, ensuring his education did not come to a halt.

Today, Franklyn is a graduate with a Diploma in Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations. He credits Develop Africa for shaping his personal and professional growth.

“Through it all, it has been Develop Africa. They have been that strong pillar in my life.”

Thank you for believing in students like Franklyn. Thank you for standing with them throughout their education. And thank you for helping educate the next generation of leaders in Sierra Leone.
