Martha is Changing the Narrative

Thank you for your support towards empowering and educating girls in Africa, like Martha. Martha shares her thoughts in a heartfelt video.

"Hello, my name is Martha, I’m one of the beneficiaries of Develop Africa Sierra Leone. We all know the challenges women are facing in our society, wherein we don’t have a voice, and we are not being encouraged to take part in politics. This year I want to change the narrative, women should be encouraged. Normally women’s position is limited to the kitchen, taking care of children, and the home.  I want to say thank you very much to Develop Africa for the opportunities being given to me."

Martha's words echo the transformative power of education in challenging societal norms and fostering empowerment for girls in Sierra Leone.

As we eagerly anticipate #GivingTuesday on November 28th, we invite you to join us in spreading the word. With $1.2 MILLION USD in bonus funding available from GlobalGiving, your support has an even greater impact. Families in Sierra Leone face unprecedented challenges due to rising costs. Inflation makes it difficult for them to afford basic food staples such as rice, cooking oil, and onions.

Extending a helping hand can alleviate a significant burden and provide essential relief to the less fortunate.
