Cameroon Students are getting Computer Training

Your support helped the students at Bitame Lucia School (BLIS) receive some computer training.   Many of these children had never seen a computer before the training.  Computer Training is an ongoing need for children in and around the community as it helps to eradicate poverty by enhancing education, broadening options and opening the door to new opportunities.

You Provided 500 Students with School Meals

Your generous support has provided school meals to 500 students at the Bitame Lucia School, which is located in a  rural area of Nkolfoulou.  Before the introduction of school meals in the school, there had been lots of absenteeism due to lack of food. Children also fell asleep in the classroom because they were hungry or sick. There were even several cases of food being stolen at school because those children had no food at home.

Thanks to your support, Susan is now a Cosmetologist!

We are delighted to report that thanks to your ongoing support, Susan has graduated as a cosmetologist.  Susan was able to complete her basic curriculum and get computer training through the Creating Pathways Centre after the birth of her baby in 2015 thanks to generous donors. She then enrolled at the Generation 21 Vocational Training Center for Cosmetology thanks to the ongoing support she received from donors like you.

Salifu is so Thankful for your support!

Your support helped Salifu cover his end of school exam fees and expenses and will help him cover some of his college tuition in the fall where he will study to become an economist.  Since Salifu's parents cannot cover any of the costs associated with going to college he is especially thankful for your support as you can see in his photo with his big smile.

Pencil Project Books Help Stimulate A Commitment to Change the World

Through a partnership with S.M.I.L.E, Nigeria, a set of Pencil Project books have been placed in the iRead Mobile library in Nigeria

iRead Mobile Library is the first innovative books on wheels for children in Nigeria. They have books in trucks and vans that they take around to the schools and communities. Children can borrow the books to read. The children record what they have read through a review journal and they return the books when the mobile library visits again.

Liberia's Future Leaders are Thankful for your Support

Your support is giving students in Liberia who live below poverty level a chance to get their education.  The future leaders at Henry B Bennah Public School are working hard to complete their second semester of school before summer break.

In January, the students and teachers moved into the newly constructed school building where students continue to demonstrate excitement and enthusiasm for learning.  The new facility provides a better environment for learning and students’ enrollment has remained steady throughout the semester.

Mosquitoes are More Deadly Than Sharks

Did you know that statistically, mosquitoes kill more people in one day than a shark does in a century?

Thanks to your support, however, we are working to change those statistics by providing bed nets. You can see 2 kids in the photos with their new nets. These long-lasting insecticide-treated nets (ITNs) provide an effective barrier and protection from mosquito bites while they sleep. They are deeply grateful to you for providing safe, undisturbed sleep.

School's out for the Summer

We are truly grateful for your support that is helping to educate displaced and deprived kids in Cameroon.  The school is still in a dire and deprived condition in terms of facilities and resources.  The school officials are hopeful that they will receive support from the local government in the near future.
