Solar Light Gift Makes Studying Possible for Aminata

Your generous support provided Aminata with a solar light, which makes a significant improvement on her ability to study at night.

Aminata letter

Please see Aminata's letter of appreciation.  In her letter, Aminata says:

"My name is Aminata and I am 15 years old.  Due to where I live electricity is not available. Whenever I want to study I find it very difficult, because it is only when the generator is switched on that I will study well. But with the help of Develop Africa's light, I know that I can study now even if the generator is not on.  Thank you Develop Africa for this wonderful gift"

Aminata with solar light

Solar lights, along with other forms of solar powered technology, are effectively enabling students who have no electricity to study.  The lights remove this crucial roadblock for the children.

We greatly appreciate your helping Aminata and look forward to your continued support in providing more students with solar lights.

Make a Difference Today: Donate to the Year of the Pencil Campaign

On November 20th, this movement placed over 100,000 pencils into the hands

of children across Sierra Leone in 20 schools.

Each pencil tells a story — of hope, opportunity, and possibility.

Education is more than lessons — it’s liberation.

Every $25 helps children write their dreams.
