Storm and Flooding in Freetown - Worst in Years

On September 16, 2015, torrential rain caused floods, landslides, and chaos in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

The floods left thousands of the citizens of Sierra Leone stranded, with loss of property estimated to be in millions of dollars. The forecast indicates additional rain is possible.  Several lives have also been lost.

As you know the country is still trying to recover from the Ebola crisis and this has further devastated the country. Sierra Leone is still not yet at Zero Ebola.

Our hearts go out to all affected directly and indirectly. We are fully aware that a crisis of this proportion can further depress the economy.

Make a Difference Today: Donate to the Year of the Pencil Campaign

On November 20th, this movement placed over 100,000 pencils into the hands

of children across Sierra Leone in 20 schools.

Each pencil tells a story — of hope, opportunity, and possibility.

Education is more than lessons — it’s liberation.

Every $25 helps children write their dreams.
