✏️ Year of the Pencil – A Historic Milestone Ahead!
We are excited to share some amazing progress in our Year of the Pencil Campaign! Thanks to your generous support, we have already obtained (donated and purchased) 100,000 pencils—a huge step toward empowering children in Sierra Leone with the simple but powerful tools they need for learning.
But we’re not done yet. To get these pencils into the hands of children, we still need your help to cover the shipping costs. Every gift helps move us closer to classrooms where these pencils will spark creativity, confidence, and opportunity.

📅 November 20 – World Children’s Day Distribution
On November 20, World Children’s Day, we will distribute these pencils across multiple locations in Sierra Leone. This international day commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child (1959) and the Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989). It is a call to action to uphold children’s rights—especially their right to education.
This year, our celebration will be even more special. Together, we will set a world record for the most significant number of pencils distributed in a single day across multiple sites!
🌍 Why It Matters
Each pencil represents more than graphite and wood—it’s a symbol of hope, dignity, and possibility. By participating in this campaign, you are:
-
Advocating for children’s rights to education.
-
Improving the welfare and well-being of children in Sierra Leone.
-
Making history through a record-breaking distribution event.
💙 How You Can Help
We need partners like you to finish strong. Your contribution will:
-
Cover the shipping costs to get 100,000 pencils to Sierra Leone. We currently need $3500.
-
Put pencils directly into the hands of children on World Children’s Day. We need an estimated $ 5,800 to cover day-of-the-event logistics, - supplies, food, and equipment.
-
Help us set a world record while empowering a generation through education.
