10 Ladies Receive Microfinance Toolkits at the New Develop Africa Empowerment Training Institute

We are happy to report that the building for the new Develop Africa Empowerment Training Institute is almost complete and that the ladies have already started using the building.  This is great news and we are very happy for the progress as this provides a great foundation and learning environment.  This provides stability and room for growth. 

Computer Training Helps Youths Secure Jobs

In today's computer-driven society, as you all know, computer literacy is absolutely essential.  This is increasingly so for the upcoming generation, who are trying to enter the job market. 

During the trip that Phillip and Sylvester made to Sierra Leone last year, they had opportunity to meet Andrew, the Project Coordinator for AID Sierra Leone.  Andrew is responsible for coordinating the computer training sessions.

The chances are very high that you - the reader of this report / page - finished a basic level of education.  You probably hold and Associates, Bachelor's, Masters or even a PhD degree or equivalent.  Your education has helped to open up doors of opportunity.  It possibly contributed in one way or the other to helping you securing your current job or level of income.  Education can be very valuable.

Budding Leader - Dreams of a World With No Poverty

Have you ever desired to get to know more about the children that we are supporting in Africa?  Well, you are certainly not alone.  As a Project Leader, I love to see the photos of the children and in particular to listen to videos of the children.  This helps me to better understand their needs, desires, and aspirations and to stay connected. 

Computer Training in Office Applications Helps Smiling, Young Adult Secure Job

Here's a progress update from the field from a smiling young man called Abdul that is sure to warm your heart. 

Develop Africa in partnership with AID SL offered a month of computer training in office applications that helped Abdul transition from computer illiteracy to literacy. The training made a smiling Abdul "well equipped". Consequently, he explains, he has obtained a job offer and will start work in 2 weeks.

It is with excitement that we share this update and photos from the school.  The girls are very excited and proud to be receiving the computer training.  For them this is a dream that they never believed would come true.  This is so very significant as it is helping them to realize that they are valuable and that everything is possible.  Thank YOU so much for helping us place value on them and their educational and psychological development.
