You are Helping the Future Leaders of Cameroon

Your support has helped provide school supplies to the Bitame Lucia Nursery and Primary School (BLIS) as well as to other schools. Pencils and school supplies were distributed to the pupils of Nyabi Primary School. This school has 800 pupils, 400 which are refugees children from Central Africa and Nigeria. The families fled their homes due to violent conflicts in the Central African Republic (CAR) and increasing animosity between armed groups in northern Nigeria.

Future Leaders Working Hard in School

Thank for your continued support that is enabling students, like Christiana, to complete their education. Christiana received a scholarship for her final year of Senior Secondary School.  Her next step will be to work toward becoming a banker, her desired future profession.

Please watch this video of appreciation from Christiana.  In the video she says:

The Supplies That We Sent Are Supporting Education in Cameroon

Your support helped ship 14 drums from Johnson City, TN to Kentucky (More Photos).  The school supplies were then airlifted to Northern Cameroon. Our implementing partner, the Civil Affairs Team - US Army, is distributing the school supplies in Garoua, Cameroon. The team has been working tirelessly with the village and school leaders to address some of the village's vulnerabilities and help minimize the influence of Boko Haram in the region

Your Gift is Truly An Answer to a Prayer

Even today fewer opportunities and options are provided to girls/women in Sierra Leone.  While this is a global issue, the impact of this is crippling to the destinies of girls in Sierra Leone.  Imagine having to drop out of school so your brother can continue. Imagine not getting all the supplies that you need to be successful in school.  We could go on and on ...and on.

You can also imagine the questions that run through the minds of the girls. You can also almost hear their silent cries for help and for a chance to further their education.

The School Year Ended Well With Activities

Thanks in part to YOUR support, the school year ended great. Below is a report from the school.

Registration period for the 2017-2018 school year was from August 8th, 2017 through August 31st, 2017; and classes started on Monday, September 4, 2017.  Currently, there are 110 pupils enrolled at the school.  The school’s administrators are planning an ‘increased enrollment’ drive in February for the 2018-2019 school year which will begin in September 2018.

Solar Lights Make a Difference

Thank you for your support that has enabled us to recently provide solar lights to students in Bo, Makeni, Freetown and Kamawone village.  Most of these students have no electricity and previously had to rely on dangerous kerosene lamps to study at night.  The students were each very appreciative to receive a solar light.

Make a Difference Today: Donate to the Year of the Pencil Campaign

On November 20th, this movement placed over 100,000 pencils into the hands

of children across Sierra Leone in 20 schools.

Each pencil tells a story — of hope, opportunity, and possibility.

Education is more than lessons — it’s liberation.

Every $25 helps children write their dreams.
