Cameroon Students are Enjoying School

The students at Bitame Lucia Nursery and Primary School (BLIS) are enjoying school thanks to your ongoing support that has provided school supplies, books, and scholarships for them.

Since school reopened, the older students are enjoying playing sports and excitedly learning in school.  The nursery students love playing, exercising on the playground and also learning in their classrooms.  The kids are so grateful for the opportunity to learn and prepare themselves for a bright future.

Future Freetown Leaders Start New School Year

Thanks in part to your ongoing support, more future leaders received scholarships for this school year.   A total of 51 students received scholarships to go to school this year.  There were 23 students in primary school and 28 students in secondary school that received scholarships for school.

Providing Opportunities For Girls to Reach Their Full Potential

Thanks in part to your generous donations we were able to give 16 young ladies scholarships for school this year in Freetown.

The parents of the young ladies receiving scholarships were so thankful for the scholarships.  The scholarships "made the impossible possible ".  The families would not have been able to afford to send these girls to school without the scholarships.

Pictured below is Konnie holding her scholarship envelope with a smile of appreciation. She has just started JSS2 and hopes to be a teacher in the future.

Chairs for Liberian Students

Thanks to your support, we have secured a set of sturdy chairs that will serve the children for a long time.  Soon they will no longer have to sit on the floor.

We are very thankful for this because these chairs will improve their focus, attention, and learning. This is yet one more building block towards an improved and more conducive learning environment.

Future Liberian Leaders Start New School Year

Thank you for your support that is giving students who live below poverty level a chance at receiving an education.  Education is the key to success.  Educating these future leaders in Liberia is giving them the ability to get out of poverty. Educating these children will give them and all future generations what they need to thrive.

Thanks to your support, last school year ended well with the kids being promoted to the next classes as follows:

Theresa Can Study Better and Safer - Thanks to YOU!

We greatly appreciate your support that enables us to provide solar power and technology to students who had to rely on dangerous kerosene lamps previously to study at night.  Theresa is one of the students who has benefitted from her solar light.

Now Learning in a Dry Classroom

Thanks to your support our kids will be learning in 3 dry rooms this semester.

Learning in a room with a leaking roof is no fun. Like you, the kids in Liberia do not like to get wet - particularly when they are trying to focus. Additionally, the drip-drip sound of the dropping water was distracting. Because of the leaking and damaged roof, one of the rooms was unusable during the heavy downpours typical in Liberia.
