One of the implications of the Ebola crisis is that all schools and colleges are closed indefinitely. The government is providing an alternative method of learning via radio broadcasts. Instruction is provided to five different levels of pupils –Nursery, classes one to three, classes four to six, Junior Secondary School one to Junior Secondary School three (JSS1-JSS3) and Senior Secondary School one to Senior Secondary School four (SSS1-SSS4). Different subjects according to the syllabus at different academic levels are taught each day.
3 large boxes of PPE for health workers and 2 large boxes of school supplies were picked up on September 23rd, 2014 by a truck - starting their journey by ocean freight to Freetown, Sierra Leone.
Make a Difference Today: Donate to the Year of the Pencil Campaign
On November 20th, this movement placed over 100,000 pencils into the hands
of children across Sierra Leone in 20 schools.
Each pencil tells a story — of hope, opportunity, and possibility.
Education is more than lessons — it’s liberation.
Every $25 helps children write their dreams.
