We are truly grateful for every donation and supporter of these young ladies, like Theresa, in Freetown.  We are so thankful to be a part of her story.

Then in 2015:

Theresa found out about Develop Africa back in 2015 when she became pregnant during the Ebola Outbreak.  Girls who were visibly pregnant were not allowed to go back to school.  To help with this, Develop Africa opened the Creating Pathways Centre, which was set up to help girls like Theresa.

Your support is greatly appreciated as it continues to make an impact on the future leaders in Sierra Leone. Thanks to your generous support a new hands-free washing station was recently set up at Dantrimark Academy at Waterloo.

The students at Dantrimark Academy at Waterloo were encouraged to use the hands-free washing stations not only during this period of Covid-19 but on an ongoing basis as it helps promote much-needed hygiene in their schools and reduce the spread of germs.

Thanks to you, girls are getting the support they need to become future leaders in Africa. This past week a hands-free washing station was set up at Hope Academy for Girls at York Village.

Your support of underprivileged children in Liberia is greatly appreciated. The Henry B. Bennah, Sr. School reopened on January 4, 2021, after a lengthy closure due to the pandemic. The school closed in March 2020 at the outset of the virus in Liberia. It was initially scheduled to reopen in August 2020; but as the number of COVID -19 cases raised, the decision was made to postpone the reopening date until January 4, 2021. The decision to reopen was based on directives from Liberia’s Education Ministry at the advice of the country’s CDC.

Thanks to your generous support families in Bo, including students Magdelene, Tewoh, and David (pictured with their parents), received extra support in the form of half a bag of rice, one gallon of cooking oil, and onions.

Thanks to your generous support, girls are receiving not only school supplies and school support, but are also receiving food to help with their needs. Families, like Aminata's, received extra support in the form of half a bag of rice, one gallon of cooking oil, and onions.

Aminata's dad, Suliaman expressed his gratitude saying-

We are excited to share that your support helped purchase and ship school supplies that were recently received by the ABA Senegal Team. These supplies are already making an impact on Autism therapy in Senegal.  

The ABA Senegal Team said-

We began using the art supplies yesterday and unboxed the new puzzles and games. Such a relief to have these materials we'd been missing for so long. Our sensory items had all broken, so our children will get the refreshers this week - especially the rubber chewy necklaces that help to redirect biting behaviors. 

I decided to complete this project because I see the real impact that solar lights can have on kids in Africa, and I felt that it went well with my interest in electronics.  I would encourage anyone to explore doing a similar project.  Making the lights was challenging but also very rewarding, and the lack of instructions for what I was trying to do was half the battle.

Elizabeth is very thankful for your support that helped cover some of her school needs including a kindle, a calculator,  and school supplies that are shown in the photos.

Funds received will help Elizabeth complete her final year of high school (senior secondary school)  in order to start college the following year and eventually become a medical doctor - her desired future profession.
