Because of Your Support, We are Continuing to Provide Much-Needed Vocational Training - COVID-19

As with many other areas around the world, social distancing and masks have become the new normal in Sierra Leone.

Adama tells us in her video how she is able to attend the Vocational School thanks to the financial support she received. We also have the opportunity to learn how training is different right now due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Isata is Thankful for her Bed Net

Your continued support is greatly appreciated in providing long-lasting insecticide-treated nets (ITNs) to families and individuals in Freetown.  Because of the bed nets they received, students like Isata can now focus on her education and futures and not on malaria.

Isata expresses her gratitude for her new bed net in this video saying -

Thank you for this mosquito net.  This mosquito net will protect me from mosquito bites.

9 Years Later - Then and Now - #LongTermImpact

We are truly grateful for every donation and supporter of these future leaders in Freetown.  Nchumalen has been a part of the Develop Africa education program since 2011 when Sylvester visited her during his visit to Sierra Leone.

Fatmata is Thankful for Your Microfinance Support

The Coronavirus AKA COVID-19 continues to disrupt lives and businesses globally. The businesses in Sierra Leone are no exception, but microfinance loans are helping small businesses, like Fatmata's, during these challenging times.

The Trees are Growing Well

We are happy to announce that thanks to your donations the seedlings we planted are growing very well. At this point, we have achieved this initial goal.

While reforestation in Sierra Leone will continue to be a long-term endeavor, our goal to plant trees on Grafton Highway in Bathurst Village has been accomplished.

Radios are Helping Students Learn from Home

Your support has been greatly appreciated as the COVID-19 pandemic caused the nationwide closure of schools in Sierra Leone.

The students' primary option for continuing school is to receive their lessons via educational radio broadcasts -  until schools are able to reopen.

Many students in Freetown did not have radios when the schools closed. Thanks in part to your support over 30 radios were distributed to students so that they can continue their learning at home. Finda is one of the students that received a radio.

Liberian Children Learning from Home

Your support of underprivileged children in Liberia is greatly appreciated.  Schools continue to remain closed in Liberia as they are in many other places in the world due to the COVID-19 health epidemic and children are learning from home.

Radios for 2 Girls to Support Education

The Coronavirus AKA COVID-19 continues to disrupt lives and education globally.   Through your ongoing support young ladies are getting their education through radio lessons at home due to school closures.  Your support helped twin sisters, Isatu and Konnie, get the radios they need to continue their education until schools reopen.

Baptist Tailoring School Thankful for Continued Support

We are so thankful that vocational trainees are getting the training that they need. This empowering training is helping them become self-reliant.

Thanks in part to your generosity we provided support towards purchasing the following items - sewing materials, two drinking buckets, a cooling fan, a blackboard (for writing notes/instruction), and window curtains.  Funds also went towards some urgent needs - the painting of the classroom and maintenance of the restroom.
