Huge Success - Together We Have Trained Hundreds of Children and Youths

Even in this time of crisis, we have so much to be thankful for.

This GlobalGiving project was launched in 2010. Thankfully since then we together have helped to provide computer training to hundreds of children and youths. This has included the following:

Providing computer training at the FAWE school lab since 2011

Grateful For Progress

Many families in Sierra Leone were displaced due to the flooding and mudslide disaster that took place in August of 2017.

Thankfully since then we together have brought relief to hundreds of beneficiaries. We provided food, clothing, solar lights, mosquito nets, educational assistance, microfinance loans, housing assistance, etc.

Thankfully our beneficiaries are doing much better now and no longer in need of immediate disaster support. We have met the immediate need.

Microfinance Loans and Protective Masks Are Helping to Stop The Spread of COVID-19

The Coronavirus AKA COVID-19 is disrupting lives and businesses globally.   The businesses in Sierra Leone are no exception.

With COVID-19 pandemic taking the focus of all of our attention, your ongoing support is currently supporting local tailors like Josie, pictured here, with the funds needed to purchase all the materials needed to sew face masks. Protective masks stop the spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus from person to person.

Buckets and Soap To The Rescue! Thanks to YOU

As we all know, regular hand washing is essential to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus.

Many communities, however, do not have the needed resources to enable this.

With this in mind and thanks to your support, we provided 3 veronica buckets and liquid soap to the Girl Pikin for Betteh Girl’s Club at Ghana compound, Beach Road, Freetown. The compound houses over 500 people. These buckets are in great demand and will be very useful.

Earth Day- Reversing Deforestation

April 22 is Earth Day.  The 13th Sustainable Development Goal is to take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.  In Sierra Leone, the serious and accelerating rate of deforestation is not only threatening biodiversity and ecosystem balance in the country but is also contributing to global climate change. In Freetown, the run-off water from the surrounding hills results in flooding and loss of property each year.

World Malaria Day- "Zero malaria starts with me"

World Malaria Day is April 25 and this year's theme is "Zero malaria starts with me.” Our goal is to make sure every individual and family in Freetown has a bed net to prevent malaria.  Long-lasting insecticide-treated nets (ITNs) are an effective ongoing source of protection to prevent Malaria by protecting families while they sleep at night. We are so thankful for your support that provides these long-lasting insecticide-treated bed nets (ITNs) to families and individuals, like Alfred & Bintu, in Freetown.
