This past year, the Kamawornie Teacher Training Project was featured at two major education conferences in the U.S.—the NAECTE Fall 2024 Conference in Anaheim and the Northeast Tennessee STEM Innovation Hub’s Spring 2025 Regional Gathering. At both events, we shared insights from our work with educators in rural Sierra Leone, highlighting how culturally responsive, contextually grounded professional learning can foster teacher agency, innovation, and collaboration.
At SLINT TECH EXPO 2025, Develop Africa's video presentation and Sylvester Renner (President, Develop Africa), highlighted Develop Africa's impactful efforts to empower youth in West Africa through education and technology.

Make a Difference Today: Donate to the Year of the Pencil Campaign
On November 20th, this movement placed over 100,000 pencils into the hands
of children across Sierra Leone in 20 schools.
Each pencil tells a story — of hope, opportunity, and possibility.
Education is more than lessons — it’s liberation.
Every $25 helps children write their dreams.
