Celebrating Young Ladies on International Day of Women

March 8th is International Women's Day.  On this day, we celebrate the achievements of women globally.

For 12 years, we have been helping to educate girls. We strategically have impacted the destinies of hundreds of young girls, helping them complete their basic schooling.

We brought Relief, Smiles and Warmed Their Hearts

We are deeply grateful for your on-going support that is enabling us to continue to bring hope to flood victims in Freetown.

Thanks to your support through this project and another GlobalGiving project, over the past 3 months we have been able to accomplish the following:

You Provided a Full Scholarship for Omaru

Thank you so much for helping to provide a full scholarship for Omaru's school expenses this year.  Through your support, he has received the funding he needed to cover tuition, books, school supplies and related school expenses. We are so very grateful for your support.

You are Helping the Future Leaders of Cameroon

Your support has helped provide school supplies to the Bitame Lucia Nursery and Primary School (BLIS) as well as to other schools. Pencils and school supplies were distributed to the pupils of Nyabi Primary School. This school has 800 pupils, 400 which are refugees children from Central Africa and Nigeria. The families fled their homes due to violent conflicts in the Central African Republic (CAR) and increasing animosity between armed groups in northern Nigeria.

Future Leaders Working Hard in School

Thank for your continued support that is enabling students, like Christiana, to complete their education. Christiana received a scholarship for her final year of Senior Secondary School.  Her next step will be to work toward becoming a banker, her desired future profession.

Please watch this video of appreciation from Christiana.  In the video she says:

We Brought Hope and Comfort

Because of your support, we were able to respond to the immediate need of the Dumbuya family.  We provided a wide range of food items including rice, onions, salt/spices, groundnuts and other cooking items.

This was a tremendous and welcome help to them - as they were then staying temporarily with a neighbor. We also had the opportunity to provide counseling to them during their time of loss - due to passing away of the youngest daughter.

The Supplies That We Sent Are Supporting Education in Cameroon

Your support helped ship 14 drums from Johnson City, TN to Kentucky (More Photos).  The school supplies were then airlifted to Northern Cameroon. Our implementing partner, the Civil Affairs Team - US Army, is distributing the school supplies in Garoua, Cameroon. The team has been working tirelessly with the village and school leaders to address some of the village's vulnerabilities and help minimize the influence of Boko Haram in the region
